WASHINGTON, DC (April 29, 2013) – Consumer Specialties Insurance Company (CSI), a risk retention group serving the specialty consumer products industry, announced it has increased to $1 million the insurance limits available under its site-specific CSI pollution coverage.

“The increase in available protection continues CSI’s industry-leading efforts to respond to the unique risk management needs of specialty chemical manufacturers and distributors,” said Chris Cathcart, President and CEO, Consumer Specialty Products Association and President of CSI. “While all of our participating insureds maintain a strong focus on safety and operate with sound environmental risk management practices, the insurance can provide vital financial protection in the event of an incident.”

The increased available pollution liability coverage is the latest of a series of coverage enhancements made by CSI to its insurance program during the past several months; it follows the announcement of expanded product recall protection with limits increased to $250,000 from $100,000.

The higher available pollution coverage limits provide optional added protection under CSI’s general liability insurance policy, which also offers such important coverage enhancements as blanket additional insured coverage where required by vendors, blanket waiver of subrogation, and reimbursement for product withdrawal expenses, as well as protection from claims tied to certified acts of terrorism.
