WASHINGTON, DC, May 15, 2012 – As part of an ongoing effort to enhance coverage for its insureds, Consumer Specialties Insurance Company (CSI) today announced increased pollution liability protection as part of its industry-leading general liability insurance program. Specifically, CSI has raised the pollution liability sub-limit to $250,000 per occurrence (up from $100,000 previously).
“We are constantly looking for ways to meet the evolving coverage needs of our owner-members,” said Lawrence B. Midtbo, chairman of the CSI Board and President of CSI insured I-K-I Manufacturing Company (Edgerton, WI). “The significant increase in our pollution insurance limits underscores our commitment to be a valuable source of high quality and affordable insurance protection for our policyholder-owners.”
While CSI policyholders have not experienced any significant pollution claims in recent years, there remains a great deal of concern about the possibility of pollution incidents and the attendant third-party liability costs. This expanded coverage will help protect policyholders’ assets should an insured pollution event occur.
In addition to pollution liability protection, CSI’s general liability policy also offers such important coverage enhancements as blanket additional insured coverage where required by vendors, blanket waiver of subrogation, and reimbursement for product withdrawal expenses, as well as protection from claims tied to certified acts of terrorism.
